Good news! United and Northwest have agreed to a a new contract and 60 thousand folks in Tucson, Oro Valley and Marana will not lose their doctors.

I got an email this afternoon (Saturday) from a hardworking United broker manager to let us know the crisis is over.
The thousands of people who were assigned a new primary care provider (PCP) will now be re-assigned their old PCP.
I wrote about the contract dispute between UnitedHealthcare and Northwest Healthcare and said, “Don’t worry, they will settle”. Well…. they missed the May 1st deadline, but the two sides came to some agreement and signed their contract.
Northwest Healthcare hospitals and doctors are once again in the UnitedHealthcare network.
I will call my clients who were affected by this problem and tell them, “See, I told you not to worry!”.
