ABOUT

Tucson, AZ:

Medicareblog.org began as a blog on TucsonCitizen.com from 2009 to 2014. The Tucson Citizen had been the oldest newspaper in Tucson, Arizona until it was closed by its corporate owner, Gannett News. The afternoon paper was replaced by TucsonCitizen.com and had a million monthly readers until Gannett shut down the site.

My Medicare and More blog on TucsonCitizen.com had readers from around the world (and at CMS).  I got emails and calls from Americans living overseas who had questions about their Medicare.

While I enjoy researching and writing about Medicare (and health insurance), I am an independent insurance broker in Tucson, Arizona. I represent most of the Medicare Advantage plans available throughout Arizona, several Medicare supplement companies, and several Part D plans.

As an independent broker, my first job is to educate people about Medicare and their Medicare choices.  Once my clients have decided which type of coverage  they want, I help them pick out the plan that will best fit their needs.  I do not push one type of coverage over another and I do not push one company over another.

I tell my clients to call me if they have any questions or issues about their Medicare coverage because I am their advocate.  I have some good stories to tell about problems that have been resolved because I knew whom to call and what to ask.  (See the category “Medicare Stories”.)

I hope my blog demonstrates the broad knowledge I have about Medicare and Medicare choices.
